NEW YORK, NY (May 18, 2015)WealthManagement.com, the leading digital resource for wealth advisors, has announced the finalists for its 2015 Industry Awards, the first awards program to honor outstanding achievements by companies and organizations that support financial advisor success. More than 300 nominations were submitted, and 95 finalists were chosen within the following categories: Asset managers, broker/dealers, custodians, disruptors, insurance, non-custodial RIA support platforms, social media, TAMPs, technology providers, and thought leadership.

A panel of judges made up of top names in the industry determined the 2015 award finalists. In addition, a survey of more than 850 financial professionals across all advisory channels for their experiences with vendors helped inform the list of finalists. The winners in each category will be announced at a gala reception on September 24, 2015 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City.

In order to qualify, finalists had to demonstrate that a new initiative, program or enhancement to an existing platform either helped advisors manage their business more efficiently, enhanced service quality, smoothed business transitions, improved the understanding and use of various asset classes, or enriched the advisor/client experience through technology. Criteria included quantitative measures—such as scope, scale, adoption and feature set—along with quantitative measures such as innovation, creativity and new methods of delivery.

“The WealthManagement.com Industry Award program is the first of its kind to recognize excellence among vendors and suppliers serving the final advisor community,” said David Armstrong, WealthManagement.com editor-in-chief and awards program chair. “The role of the financial advisor has changed dramatically. As such, an entire ecosystem of firms and businesses has grown to support their efforts. This recognizes outstanding achievement, innovation and leadership among those firms.”

By recognizing outstanding achievement in the industry, the WealthManagement.com Industry Awards will inspire innovation and leadership among industry participants, creating an environment that will enable the industry to better support advisors in their roles as leaders to their clients and communities.

A portion of the proceeds from the WealthManagement.com 2015 Industry Awards event will be donated to Foundation for Financial Planning, an organization devoted to providing pro bono financial planning to the underserved primarily by providing grants to connect those in need with those willing to provide financial planning.
