October was a busy month for SSN – we visited with several of our advisors, held a Wholesaler Appreciation Event, planned and executed our first ever Continuing Education session, and attended the Ladenburg Institute for Women & Finance Annual Conference. Every interaction was beneficial and valued as we move through the last quarter of 2015.
Chicago in late October proved to be an excellent setting for our Wholesaler Appreciation Event. We had the opportunity to sample several different wines at Osteria Via Stato and pair them with excellent dishes while enjoying the breeze blowing in from the patio and networking with our wholesalers in the Chicago area. Many thanks go to all of the SSN Advisors in attendance and especially to Tom Nestlehut for speaking to our guests about best practices for talking with independent advisors. It was certainly a night to remember and we look forward to continuing the conversations with all of our guests in the future.
The following day we had the pleasure of hosting our first Continuing Education session at the Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile Hotel. A great deal of information was shared from our friends at Premier Trust, Highland Capital Brokerage, and Ladenburg Thalmann Asset Management. From the feedback we received everyone came away with valuable information that they did not have prior to attending the event, and we look forward to providing many more of these opportunities for our advisors in the future.
Ladenburg wrapped up our week in Chicago with the Ladenburg Institute for Women & Finance Annual Conference. The Ladenburg family invited their top women advisors to attend this 3-day conference along with some of the home office staff from all of the sister companies. Several well-known speakers shared their knowledge and expertise to inspire and educate all who were in attendance. A Great Gatsby themed party on the first night of the conference allowed everyone to dress up and have a great time getting to know one another. The Ladenburg Institute for Women & Finance put on an impressive event and we are proud to be able to offer this opportunity to our top female advisors for many years to come.

Our Customer Service Survey will be made available in the middle of November for all SSN Representatives and Assistants to provide feedback on what we are doing right and where we need to improve. Customer service is our top priority at SSN and we want to know how we are doing. Over the years, changes to FOCALweb, delivery of communications, operating procedures, etc. have all been influenced by responses we have received in past surveys. We appreciate the investment of time made in the furtherance of our mutual goals with the completion of this survey.
